The Challenge

Three different audiences, one platform, zero friction

A crowdfunding site for local causes is a familiar idea. The harder problem GIFTBOOSTER set out to solve is making it work for three different people at once: someone who wants to support a cause nearby, a community organizer trying to raise funds for a project, and a local shop that wants to turn that generosity into a reason for new customers to walk through its door.

Each of those audiences needed its own clear entry point — "I want to support," "I want to raise funds," "I want to list my business" — without the site feeling like three different products stitched together, and without donors losing track of why a reward platform and a giving platform were the same place.

  • Three distinct user journeys (donor, project creator, merchant) needed to coexist on one site without confusing any of them
  • Donors needed a tangible, immediate reason to give beyond goodwill alone
  • Local merchants needed a straightforward way to list an offer and reach people who had just supported a cause nearby
  • The whole experience had to work in French, for a Swiss-canton audience, from the first screen
The Solution

Give to a cause, unlock a reward from a real local business

TecXra built GIFTBOOSTER around a simple loop: a donor picks a local project to support, their contribution funds that cause, and in return they get access to the GIFTBOOSTER Boutique — a set of exclusive offers from participating local businesses. The giving and the reward are two sides of the same action, not two separate features.

The homepage routes each of the three audiences into its own path immediately — support a project, raise funds for one, or register a business — so a donor, an organizer, and a merchant each land on the experience built for them within one click.

What it looks like in use

GIFTBOOSTER homepage showing the three entry points: support a project, raise funds for a project, or register a business and publish offers
GIFTBOOSTER mechanism: step 1, I contribute to the project of my choice; step 2, I benefit from an exclusive offer in the shop

Every visitor lands on the path built for them — support a cause, raise funds for one, or list a business — and every contribution loops back into a reward.

Results / Business Impact

What changed

Illustrative Impact — representative outcomes for this class of system, not measured client figures.

A reason to give locally

Donors support a cause they care about and get something tangible back from their own community.

A reason for merchants to join in

Businesses reach newly engaged, locally-minded customers through an offer tied to a cause.

One platform, not three silos

Donors, project creators, and merchants each get a clear path without separate sites or logins.

Transparent funding, in real time

Anyone can see exactly how close a project is to its goal before deciding to support it.

Implementation Highlights

03

Project & merchant tooling

Built project creation, category/canton filtering, and merchant offer listings.

04

Localized launch

Launched fully in French for the Swiss French-speaking cantons, with ongoing content via the blog.
